HPPSC SET Exam 2014

Himachal Pradesh PSC SET Notification
The notification for the candidates is that Himachal Pradesh public service commission announces holding of State eligibility Test (SET) in the month of March/April 2015 for determining the eligibility for recruitment of the post Assistant professors in Universities and colleges located within the state of Himachal Pradesh . HPPSC SET Exam will be conducted in 19 subjects which are Chemical sciences, Life sciences, history, Mathematics, Hindi ,English, Commerce, Geography, Economics, Music ,Physical sciences, Physical Education, sociology, Sanskrit, Political science, Public Administration, Computer Application, Tourism Administration and Management, Journalism and Mass Communications. The various examination centers will be located at Shimla Solan Mandi and Dharmashala.
The notification further says that candidates applying should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for SET exam. If any information found to be wrong in future he will be rejected. The original documents will be verified if and only if the candidate has qualified the SET exam.
HPPSC SET Exam Pattern
HPPSC SET exam will be one day exam and will be conducted in two parts. In the first session two papers will be conducted each will be of 100 marks and the duration of each paper of first session will be 75 minutes. The first paper of first session will contain 60 question out of which 50 question will be compulsory while the second paper will contain 50 question ,all will be compulsory . These papers will be of general nature and subjective. The third paper of second session will contain 75 questions, all are compulsory. It will be of 150 marks and have to be completed within 150 minutes. Furthermore it will be based on the subject selected by the candidate and will be objective type.
How to Apply: The candidates must read the instruction carefully given on the official website of the commission i.e. hp.gov.in/hppsc/ . They can apply online for SET through this website.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates those have secured at least 55% marks in master’s degree from recognized universities/institution by UGC are eligible for HPPSC SET Exam. The SC, ST, OBC-non creamy layer or person with disability who have secured at least 50% marks in master’ degree will be eligible for the SET. PhD degree holders whose master’s degree examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 will be given 5% relaxation in marks.
